WOW! A lot of things have happen over the summer. Business
has been good and I d o appreciate the patience everyone showed while we were
having some difficulties with the web site, everything seems to be running
smooth now and somewhat back to normal.
The month of July we made our trip to Ganes Creek, Alaska.
What an adventure this was. Nearly all of us on this trip had never been to Alaska before. This is
true wilderness, I was often wondering how in the
world did the old timers ever prospect this country! Swamp and muskeg and brush
thicker than the hair on a dogs back, not to mention the bugs. Despite all
those things we had a great time and even found some good gold. My take was
over 4 ounces with 2 nuggets over 1 ounce and several smaller ones. The big nugget
of the trip was a 6.75 ounces and found by Roy N. of Belgrade, MT. Everyone prospected hard and had a great time. I
for one am looking forward to going back up again next year. Contact me if you’re
interested in going.
Steve and Chris
Gholson (Arizona Outback) paid me a visit here in August and we went out and
did some detecting for a few days, we did pick up a few stray nuggets here and
there. It was one of those “The prospecting was great, it was the finding that
was difficult trips”. It was fun to get together with some old friends and
share some good times out in the field. But like always business and work cuts
things short and they had to leave after 2 days, they did get to take a little Montana gold home with
them despite the short trip.
If you are interested in seeing the gold from the Alaska trip, stop by the
store and I will show it to you. Thanks for checking out the web site and good
luck in the gold field. Rick
